Participate in Clinical Studies

Next Gen Glasses for Migraine IMG_3725_sThanks to all of you who’ve expressed interest in the study. We’ve received over 600 responses. As a result, we are no longer seeking participants for this study. We do plan to have additional studies in the future, and we will post that information here and on our Facebook page.

Click on the Facebook Like Us on the bar below for the latest information.

Axon Optics has developed a new therapeutic lens technology for light sensitivity and migraine. Although current tinted lenses have been shown to be effective, we anticipate that the new clearer lenses will have significant benefits. We are conducting clinical studies this spring at the University Of Utah’s Moran Eye Center and will be enrolling up to 50 local participants.

  1. Robin Cowen says:

If and when the clear coating is perfected, have you considered partnering with the auto industry to incorporated the tint into the car windows? I personally have a lot of trouble with glare durine overcast rainy days, glare as the sun begins to set, and glare/distortion at night due to headlights. If you make a completely clear tint that blocks potentially disturbing light, I think it would be helpful to all drivers. Just a thought…

  2. Noelle Call says:

I had 185 days of migraines in 2012. Many are in the middle of the night, but I have had some that are triggered by a bright light during the day. (Once by the flashing lights on a first graders shoes!)

  3. Heidi Farnworth says:

I suffer from chronic migraines 20-30 days per month, mostly behind left eye. Am extremely sensitive to light and sound, and haven’t found anything that relieves them. Have had them for 27 years, been unable to work for the last 6 years because of them. I would love to try the glasses.
    Thank you

    • Graeme says:

I suffer multiple migraine, generally every second day which are all left sided ice picks behind the eye. Current Rx from my Neurologist is IM morphine injections 30units 4 hourly prn.

Any method to remove this Rx would be gratefully followed.

      Regards, Graeme C

  4. Carol Warnick says:

I have migraine’s most days. They often keep me in bed and in a darkened room. I am unable to function, even at a minimal level. I have been fighting migraine’s off and on, for most of my adult life (I’m now a Senior Citizen). I would love to participate in the study.

  5. Shauna Baker says:

I have had migrianes for over 6 months. It is a constant that has taken over my life and changed my life and my family. I would like to be apart of this study. I would love to be pain free and have my life back. I do not live in Utah, I live in Washington state. My family told me about this. Thanks, Shauna

  6. Kathleen Larsen says:

Hi, I have migraines 2 to 3 days a week with extreme light sensitivity. I don’t go any where without sunglasses. I would love to try these glasses.

    Thanks for considering me,

  7. Sherry Bluemel says:

My son has had three concussions and is very sensitive to light. Light and noise are the main cause of his severe headaches. This has been going on for three years now with some days leaving school or sleeping in school to get relief. Could he be a candidate for clinical trials? He will be 19 next month.

  8. Russ hammond says:

I would love the oppotunity to be in the clinical study. Migraines have altered life and would love to find a solution.

  9. Jeanne says:

I have a 13 year old daughter that suffers from migraines horribly – and would qualify except for her age. If you ever do a trial for teenagers, contact us!!!

  10. Clayton Morley says:

I have had migraines since I was 1995. When I get a migraine I loose my peripheral vision in my left eye goes blurry, I must lay down in a dark room without sound and go strait to sleep if possible, otherwise I get very nauseous. Please consider me for this trial. I would really like to live a full life.

  11. Katherine Morley says:

I have had headaches my whole life. Since I was in grade school. When I finally went to a neurologist about it I realized they would often turn in to migraines and ruin my day. I had a baby 7 months ago and my biggest worry was how will I ever take care of my baby on days that I get a migraine and now I know it is impossible. I would love to be a great mom 100% of the time not just sometimes. I would be very grateful for a solution to this problem, and to participate in this trial.

  12. Kasaundra Lindhardt says:

I have suffered from migraines for over 20 years. I always have a headache. I have 3-4 migraines a week with very little relief. With my migraines I have sensitivity to light and nause. I never go outside with out sunglasses and very seldom open the blinds in my home. I would love to be part of this study! I feel like I am missing out on so much of my children’s lives because of migraines.
    Thanks, Kasaundra

  13. Dani Clarine says:

I really wish you would allow children into this study. I have a 9 year old who has suffered from violent migraines since he was 4. Poor kid has to be given 4 medications to even begin to see relief. It’d be nice to allow him to have a solution that didn’t involve altering his brain chemistry.

  14. Marilyn says:

I would love to participate in th study!! It seems my son and I live on migraine and nausea med. I don’t know what life is like without my head hurting most of the time. Unfortunately my children have them too. My son started getting them as a very young child and they have only gotten worst as he grew up. Now college can be very challenging for him because of the migraines. It would be wonderful to have some relief. We always try to find sunglasses that “wrap around” and are very dark. It seems you may have create just the right design. Please let us participate in your study!

  15. Barbara Ekblad says:

I have had 6-10 migranes a month for many years. I am so tired of the many medicatons that I have tried, that don’t work. I would LOVE to try something not medicinal to take these migranes away.

  16. Megan says:

My husband has had migraines most of his life. Im tired of seeing him in so much pain that he can not even enjoy playing with our children he trys everything and can’t find anything to help. I would love for him to try this, maybe he will be able to enjoy life fully.

  17. Amanda says:

I suffer from daily headaches and have suffered from migraines too. Light sensitivity has been a huge issue! I’m so tired of it altering my life! It would be amazing if I could be normal again! I would love to be considered for this clinical!

  18. aime says:

I have 2 children that has suffered for years with migraines . My daughter will turn 18 in 5 months if still doing it then please contact me .. my son is almost 15 and would love to try if you do a child study .. thanx

  19. Anne Diehl says:

Dear Dr. Katz, It would be an honor to be in your study if it helped me and many others who suffer with migraines. It’s a typical week for me to get at least 3 to 5 migraines. Sometimes I wonder if they ever go away! I really believe you are on to something about securing the amount of light that comes into the eyes. I have large pupils by heredity and was told by one Dr. that too much bright light gets in through my pupils which could be the cause of some of my migraines. At this point, I will try anything! Thank you, Anne

    • Anne Diehl says:

I would consider it an honor to be included in your migraine study with the lenses and glasses you have invented. By being in the study, I hope to not only help myself with my debilitating headaches but also others. I have done headache diaries in the past and am willing to do what is included in this study. Thanks, Anne

  20. Heather Watkins says:

I would love to be a part of this study. I have been having mirgraines a lot more and trying to care for my 1 ,5, 8 and 9 year old gets difficult. There have been times I have been so sick that the 8 and 9 year old got ready for school without me walked to school and the 5 year old took care of he baby till I could even function. Then the whole day so sluggish and feel so sick just from a migraine. I have done an MRI all normal. I have asked my Ob/gyn doctor also cause I have gotten them more after my 3rd child and even more wtih my 4th. I usually ahve to close all the blinds and my 1 year old fends for herself wtih some supervision of the 5 year old while the big kids are at school. I would love to be a part of this study!
    Thanks Heather

  21. Jeffery jones says:

I have suffered with migraines most of my life. I am now 43 and frequency and intensity have increased drastically. I have 3 to 5 migraines a week. Sensitivity to light has become a real issue. Light is one of my biggest triggers ( next to nitrates ) I have learned to take back some control with diet but would love to control the light sensitivity issues as well. I would love to be involved and delicate myself to your study. Thank you for your efforts and your consideration.

  22. Lanette Howard says:

I have suffered from migraine headaches for 27 years. I lose approximately 3 days of my life every month. I am a healthy person other than the migraines. My vision has been affected by my migraines because they always settle on the left side of my face. I want to be in this study and feel like I would be a good candidate.

  23. Jennifer Moore says:

I have tried to live with daily migraines for the past 12 years. I’ve seen so many doctors without results. I’ve always wished somebody would make glasses that would help relieve them since my job and my son make it impossible to live in a dark room when they hit. I would LOVE to be involved!

  24. Jennifer Yates says:

I have suffered from a headache or migraine daily. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t have a headache. If I don’t catch it early enough with medication I am done for most the day with nausea. Both of my sons have headaches too. If I could help with the clinical trial that could benefit my whole family. I meet all the criteria. 🙂

  25. Kathy says:

I have suffered from migraines for over 37 years, complete with aura, numbness, nausea, and serious headache for days. Would love to try anything.

  26. Melissa Garcia says:

I started getting Migraines about a year ago and they completely put me down when I get them! I have gone to the Dr’s several times for this and my husband has even had to fill out paper work to be able to leave work to come home and help me with our children while I’m down! My longest migraine has lasted for 3 days and that is with working on medications even with medication I still get them quite frequently. It would be nice to not have to take a medication to fix this problem? I would love to be considered to be a part of your study! Please help! Thanks!

  27. Stephanie Loud says:

I have been under the care of Dr Dorothy Williams, a neurologist who specializes in migraines for 2 years, with little relief. My migraines are often triggered by a flash of light or looking at a computer screen (artificial lighting is one of my triggers). They are very visual in nature, and I never go out without sunglasses. I have been tracking them faithfully for 2 years and have between 14-16 headache days each month. They tend to come in 4 day cycles. I do wear prescription glasses and sun glasses.

  28. Terri Cooper says:

I have had migraines for 35 years and definately the majority due to light sensitivity – I have issues almost daily. I would love to be involved in your study. Thanks

  29. Adam Lingard says:

I have been suffering from Migraines for over 20 years having to hide in a dark corner of the bathroom because of the nausea often ending up in the ER when migraine medications do not work and even after the “Migraine Cocktail” from the ER my migraines to not always go away especially once you get up and go back outside into the wonderful sunlight.

  30. Tara Moffat says:

  31. Tara Moffat says:

Tara Moffat again……..and yes, I do have ALL of the aura symptoms. Major light sensitivity, nausea, vomiting, being in a dark room bored out of your mind but in so much pain you can’t do anything…..wanting to yell at my husband because he shut the microwave door and it sounded like a firecracker in my ear…………….all of that day in and day out! Nauseated right now as I type.

  32. Jolea Beatty says:

I have suffered from severe light sensitive headaches for about 5 years now. I actually had a scan of my brain because they thought it could be an annurism. Turns out doctor said it was just severe migraines. I have to lock myself in a dark room and try to fall asleep to make them go away. On a bad month I have 7-12 of these and some are worse than others. I would love to try these glasses and participate in the study. I was so excited when I saw it on ksl.

  33. Kaye Hadley says:

I have had migraines for many years. They are one sided pulsing headaches with nausea. They have been a major detriment to my quality of life. I would like to be in your study.

  34. Jon Lauritzen says:

My migraines began 17 years ago after a bout with Guillane-Barre Syndrome. I have been under the care of Neuro-opthalmologist Dr. Kathleen Digre since then. I have 2 or 3 migraines each week. As any migraine sufferer will tell you, they alter life immeasurably. Please consider me a candidate for your study.

  35. Joanne Hutchens says:

My migraines intensified over the last 20 years but it wasn’t until about the last four years that they have almost crippled my everyday schedule. I have lost two jobs because of them. I take a hand full of medications as a preventative and still get about 20 a month. If I catch them early I can usually get by with only missing half a day of responsibilities. Most times they hit in the middle of the night. I don’t know if I would be considered as a candidate but I am grateful that research is being done to relieve peoples suffering.

  36. Sharon Rigby says:

My mother suffers from bad migraines monthly without fail and I would love to see her pain free so that she go to work and take care of her family pain-free. She is very sensitive to light and I know these glasses would help her tremendously. Thank you very much!

  37. Sharon Rigby says:

My mother suffers from bad migraines monthly without fail. I would love to see her go to work and take care of her family pain-free. She is very sensitive to light and so I know these glasses would her her tremendously. Thank you so much.

  38. Pam says:

Migraines for over 50 years. Longest one with non stop severity, 18 years. Now daily headaches moderate to severe. I am a very positive person knowing that one day there would be someone that could help. I know light is a factor. I meet every aspect of the criteria and would love to participate. Please contact me for more information.

Maybe next time a second hidden button option could be provided. “Hit With Dignity”
for a Southern lady that doesn’t complain in public.

  39. Tiffany Dean says:

I have suffered from chronic migraines for years and have had to be on FMLA for them. I had ASD CLosure in 2008 that seemed to lesson the severity but still suffer from them. I am nursing now & can not take my regular medication during pregnancy or the year after for nursing. I also wear regular RX glasses. I am looking for anything to help

  40. Shauna Clegg says:

I have suffered from headaches/Migraines for a LONG time, would love to be part of the study. My 3 children would love to have their mom back, playing with them and functioning again!!! Thanks!!!

  41. Tawnja Gibson says:

We live in Nevada, so are disqualified from being in your clinical study. My 18 year-old daughter has migraines that cause her to pass out or have absence seizures. We’d be willing to travel to Utah on a regular basis in order to be a part of the study if you find her case to be intriguing. If not, we would love to know when the glasses are available for purchase. Thank you.

  42. Benjamin Miller says:

I have suffered from migrains for 25 years. They begin with an aura, sometimes begin in the night and I wake to them. The pain is so intense that I have to be in bed with earplugs and in a dark room, if I’m lucky I am able to be up on the 4th or 5th day. I have to take a medical drop from school because of them, and employment is often lost because of them. HELP

  43. Taylynn says:

I have been getting migraines since I was 13, but they have gotten worse over the past 4 years. Going to certain movie theaters is a problem now, because of the way they keep the aisles lit during the movie. I get migraines almost daily and sometimes they last for 3-4 days. I hope this is a solution to everyone’s suffering.

  44. Sarah Pease says:

I’ve been having migraine headaches and have been seeing a neurologist for the past 12 years. I always have a headache and I get a migraine about 3 times a week. I’ve been on so many different meds that I can’t even remember them all. Although, I have been diagnosed with an “unspecified seizure disorder” and I take an anti-convulsant, so I’m not sure if I qualify.

  45. Christy says:

I am a 34 yr old teacher and mom of 4 who has suffered with daily headaches and migraines since I was 9. I have tried so many things, yet it seems like I am resigned to the fact that I must live in daily pain. I take OTC medications daily depending on the type of headache or migraine I have at the time. I would love to see if I would qualify to be a part of this research, to see how it could benefit others in my situation.

  46. Dorothy Buckwalter says:

I have suffered from miagraines for 40 years now and have found nothing that really helps. It starts with the visual effects and then goes to one side of my head. I just have the suffer with it until it wears itself out. I definately want to be part of your clinical trial.

  47. Patricia Miller says:

I have been having sever migraines & the intensity & lenth have increased throughout the years. I have been missing a lot of work the last few years & it makes my job very difficyult to do. I have been through numerous doctors but nothing seems to help much. I alrwady have sunglasses I wear at work as needed & have taken light bulbs out around my cubicle & have put up cardboard to block the light from nearby cubie. Please consider me for your study. I currently wear glasses so I hope that’s okay. This will be a godsend if it works.

My quality of life currently is very low, all I do is work when I can & go home & do the bare minimum I have to do. Please, please, consider me for your study.

  48. April says:

I started having migraine headaches a few years ago and they just keep getting increasingly worse. I have a headache nearly all the time that will turn into a migraine about every other day and then go back to a dull headache. I’ve seen multiple doctors, had MRI’s, tried medication, used essential oils, etc. and nothing has given me full relief. I’d love to be a part of this trial. My husband also suffers from chronic migraines. He’s had migraines since he was a baby. As a baby, he would bang his head on anything to find relief and it wasn’t until he could talk that they realized why he did it. After 36 years he still can’t find anything that will cure them. He gets incedibly ill with his migraines and will often times have to go to the doctor for a shot to get a bit of relief. It would be awesome to do the trial together! Our 8 and 10 year old kids now suffer from migaines too so it’d be wonderful to find something to help us so we can learn to help them.

  49. Tim says:

I am a 62 year old male who has suffered from migraine headaches for many, many years. I have been a patient with the U of U Neurology clinic Headache study for 21 years. I think this breakthrough by Dr. Katz for light sensitivity is fantastic and would like to be considered for his clinical trial.

    Dear friends
I’m a 44 year old man, who has suffered from MIGRAINEs since early childhood. I hope to be included in your tests if possible? If not please try to make these glasses as affordable as possible so those of us , who suffer can have a Chance to try this for ourselves. I hope the tests go well! Thank you for a Chance to be included.

Migraines that last up to three days are a regular part of my life, affecting work and home. Light sensitivity and nausea are a constant. I have been sensitive to light my whole life and have to wear dark sunglasses most of the year. I am fourty-one years old, and would love to reduce or eliminate my migraines.

I have had cluster migraines for over 27 years. I live in Utah and would love to participate in this trial. Please consider me for your study.

  54. Anonymous says:

I am a 36 year old male. I have suffered with migraines since the age of 16. I also suffer from cluster headaches. I currently am unemployed because of my headaches. I haven’t been able to work for five years. I worked at UPS for 8 years doing very physical labor. I loved my job but had to quit because of the headaches.
I would really like to be involved in the clinical study because I want to improve so I can get back to work.
My social life has suffered due to the headaches.
I am homebound and want to get my life back. If these glasses could help me, I would praise them from the rooftops!

I am a 63 year old female. I have suffered from migraines since my early twenties. My head always hurts. With all the doctors I have been to and all the medication that I have been prescribed, nothing really helps. Something natural like glasses that might help me would be very appreciated. I am a retired elementary teacher and I can finally lay down in my darkened bedroom when the headaches hit. That’s the best treatment for me so I think the glasses might be a solution also.

  56. Marikay says:

I have suffered migraines all my life, the past 3 years however they have gone to daily. I have tried everything, chronic migraines change your life, it is a disease many people don’t understand I feel like my life has turned into laying in a dark, quiet room all day, sleepless nights, and really nothing to look forward to. Please help me, I don’t live in Utah, but I want to ( I need this so bad) be part of this study. I haven’t worked for the past 3 years due to my migraines.

  57. Angela says:

Suffer severe migraines, have even had an “a”typical migraine that caused stroke like symptoms that lasts 5 days with some lasting effects.

  58. Stephanie says:

I have suffered from migraines for 15 years. The last 5 years they have gotten worse. I can suffer from at least 10-20 depending on the month (because of botox). I have them on the left side, and I have problems with vision, terrible nauseau, light sensitivity. I know I do not live in Utah but I would really love to be in your study. I have tried everything from herbal remedies to hypnosis & accupunture.
    Thank you,

I am a 33-year-old female, and I have at least 3 headaches a week. I have been on Imitrex since I was 22 years old, and I currently take Relpax when the Imitrex doesn’t work. The Relpax usually helps with the really bad ones that start with vision problems and numbness of fingers. I am a teacher and I work under florescent lighting all day, and although I have had some of them dimmed, it’s still a daily nuisance. I would love to try these glasses. I really believe that would help, and I would become less dependent on prescriptions.

  60. Jami says:

I am very excited about this medical development and clinical trial. My migraines are 2 – 15 days long. I have 20 plus days a month that are migraine days. Since I started getting migraines there are meds that help somewhat but they are very costly and don’t always control the pain. Life would be so much better being able to go outdoors and not just laying in a darkened room with ice packs. Depending on prescription drugs and being at the mercy of migraines make a real life impossible. thank you for this development.

  61. Annemarie says:

I am currently a 46 year old Female who suffers from migranes 20 days out of the month. Currently on zomig and a beta blocker. Been to the Diamond Head ache Clinic and it doesn’t seem to help. I do not live in Utah but would love to participate in this study. If something opens up in Chicago please let me know. Even given the opportunity to try them on as a sample before I buy a pair. Could really use your help.

  62. Lois says:

I have had migraine problems for at least 30 years, and they have become worse. I have always been sensitive to light. I miss the most beautiful days because of the brightness of the sun or the glare of the snow here in Michigan. I wear dark sunglasses every day, and when working I need to have the fluorescent lighting disabled over my desk. Even the computer glare can bring one on so it’s not uncommon for me to wear sunglasses inside as well as outside.

I would love to participate in trying these lenses….but I live in Michigan. I hope that I will hear more about these very soon. My migraines really do control my life…HELP!
    as outside.

  63. Myrah says:

I have had migraines since I was a child. I am now 64 years old and still have them.. when I was a child they put me in rose colored glasses but by the time I was 30 we didn’t have them any more. I don’t live in Utah but I would still like to be in the clinicals and try them.

  64. Marigold says:

I’m a 40 year old woman who has suffered from migraines since I gave birth to my last child at the age of 30 years old. It has interfered with my life, my activities, my job and it’s been debilitating. I have exhausted the list of things to do from medications, to special glasses, to specific lighting in our home and at work, I would love the opportunity to test a product that could resolve my migraines. I currently suffer from 3-4 migraines weekly and I see a neurological doctor for them. I’m desperate to figure out a cure, I’m exhausted and so tired of these migraines. I’m so sensitive to fluorescent lights they trigger a migraine quicker than anything. Please please let me trial these glasses that you’ve created for migraine sufferers.

  65. Blackbird says:

I’ve just recently discovered the existence of migraine glasses, and even more recently discovered that clearer lenses are going to come out, which is what I’ve been looking for almost as long as I’ve had migraines! Can you give any estimate as to when the clearer lenses could become available?

    • Virginia says:

Our current glasses help 90% of our customers.  The newer, clearer lenses are in clinical trial.  We’re hoping to release them later this year.  Thanks for your interest in our products!

  66. Christine says:

I am migraine sufferer and my attacks, most of which are light triggered, can last days . I have been on the ‘Heal Your Headache’ diet for 4 years now and have eliminated any that are trigger (ie. food) related. I wear sunglasses and ball caps most of the time but when under attack I am driven to stay in my very dark room, take medication, (which rarely works anymore) and pray for relief.
I have missed so much life due to migraine. My marriage, children, work, and friendships have all been ‘dictated’ by pain and discomfort for more than 30 years! I have missed weddings, reunions, parties, dinners, concerts and most of my children’s school functions, (not to mention sleep!).
I fit all the criteria for this study as light is by far my worse and most frequent trigger.
My family and I thank you for considering me.

  67. jerry says:

I would like the opputunity to try tgese glasses! i get migraines just about everyday. the pain is absolutely unbearable. i cant do anything. the light kills me. i just want to sit n the dark. i cant ,sleep, shower play w my kids hardly, & sometimes i cant even go to work. ive tried every medicine, been to the doctor & there is nothing that helps. please give me the chance to try your glasses!!…. thanks

  68. Helen Combass says:

My husband suffers from Vestibular migraines and has vertigo really bad.He has been suffering from it for years. He has bad headaches and suffers from light sensitivity and nausea everyday, all day. He would like to try the glasses to see if they will help his situation. He is retired and does not go out anywhere unless I can drive him, mostly to the doctor’s office.

I have suffered ofer 30 years with migraines. I’ll be 60 this year. I’ve tried everything for migraines except surgery. I’m currently on Topomax as a preventative but always have my Imitrex and Treximet on hand – take it wherever I go in case I get a migraine. The longest migraine I’ve had had is about three weeks. Flashing lights will kick off a migraine and certain smells will too. I have been in several migraine studies and I wish I could be in yours but I live in Florida.

I had a few migraines when I was younger complete with aurua and nausea, the dissapaited as I got older. Last year I started getting them with a vengence, first every month, then every two weeks, them every week then more. I have been on topamax, lamectal, botox, Frova, Maxalt, Sumatriptan, Elavil, Depakote and more. I don’t live in Idaho but am interested in your study. I am 51 and would like the results or the chance to be in a wide spread nationwide study. I have been to Mayo clinic for benign meningioma which they say is not causing the migraines. I would love to just wear goggles versus all the pilss that I take and all the missed days of work. thanks for working towards a viable cure!

I would like to participate in this study. I felt like I was reading my own personal diagnosis when I read about octular migraines.

I would love to participate in the study. I live 170 mi. due north of SLC and am familiar with U of U.
    Thank you.

I’ve had bad headaches, and have been taking pain medication, for the last 20 years. This last year it’s been everyday. I would be very interested in trying your new glasses. Thank you for your consideration.

  75. Jenn Driedger says:

I have been suffering from migraines for over 15 years, and headaches as a child. They started off with a few a month and for the last few years they are now chronic- I have a severe migraine with aura every single day without any break. I can’t even remember what its like to not of a migraine. I have tried all prescription medication known to neurologists and my physician. I have also tried herbal remedies, as well as acupuncture, physical therapies, massage, yoga, etc. Anything possible, none of which have worked, nor have I been able to find a trigger of any kind. I would be grateful to be able to try these glasses, especially if it would reduce the amount of painkillers I have to take to function every day.
    Thank you for your consideration,

I do not live in Utah, but I match all of the criteria for test

I suffer from severe migraines >15 days a month including nausea, photo-sensitivity, sensitivity to sound and smells. My migraines are primarily on the left side of my head, but sometimes the throbbing is on both sides of my head. I avoid bright light all of the time as it is a trigger for my headaches. I am no longer able to work because of my migraines.

Please consider me for your clinical study – thank you – Krystin

I am a nursing student without a job and without health insurance so I cannot seek preventative medical care. I have suffered from migraines since I was a child. At a very young age I was taking my mother’s prescription pain medication for these episodes. In my adulthood I suffer from severe migraines that last up to 3 days, 1-2 (+) times monthly. During those 3 days I suffer excruciating pain and from sensitivities to sound, light, and movement. For three days I am incapacitated and unable to perform daily living activities. I have tried every OTC medication with no relief. I have taken Norco, when I have it, and it is a 50/50 chance if it will alleviate migraine pain. My only resolution for these episodes are to take OTC meds with Diphenhydramine to put myself to sleep until the migraine subsides. Til now, I have been unable to pinpoint any food triggers and have no allergies. Migraines run in my family so I have a genetic predisposition to them. I have lost years of my life due to this “curse” and my work, schooling, and relationships suffer because of it. I live in CA and cannot participate in this study tho I am excited to see if this could be a valid resolution to migraines.

  82. Shalise Swenson says:

I have suffered from migraines since the age of 4! I hate taking meds every day, so many days I just try to suffer through…however, this makes me and sometimes everyone near me miserable! I just got married in June and my wonderful husband has never complained, but I would love to be able to have him know me one day without a headache! PLEASE let me be a part of this study and see if it helps!!! We are both full time students and have no health insurance, so this could be the miracle we have been praying for!!! I meet ALL your requirements, and this would be life changing to be free of the daily pain and constant “sick days”! Please Please Please consider ME!!!

I had a tumor removed that had finger wrapped around the optic never. I have about 5 days a month where I don’t have a migraine or bad headache. Dr. Digre helped me get the fl-41 glasses two years ago over the past year nothing really works. I wear a pain patch 24 seven, take sumatriptan when they are extreamly bad. Would love a chance to be part of the trail.

I have migraines about 3 times a week, and always have light and noise sensitivity. I’ve taken Topomax, Imitrix, and Maxalt with little relief and I usually have to take so much, I become dependent and the side effects are sometimes worse than the headaches.
I would like to included in the trial.

I know you said no pregnant women, but as it is not a drug, but a pair of eye glasses, I would really like to be considered. I am 31 and have been getting near daily headaches since I was about 14. They are not as bad as some of the people who are also wanting to be admitted into this trial, but they are hard for me. I have been to doctors and given migraine medication which did absolutely nothing for them. Sometimes I cannot move, sound hurts, light hurts, everything hurts, and I just lay on my bed wanting to cry, but knowing that will make it worse. Sometimes I get nauseated, but mostly it is a constant pain in the top back of my head. Always the same spot, very rarely does it move. I mostly live with the pain in my head and try to go about my life. I mostly do a good job with it. The really bad ones where I can't function are mainly once a month, but in between times it is a constant pulsing pain in the same spot. I would love for the pain to go away. Pain medication doesn't touch it and I would love to not have to pretend to be paying attention to my kids as I am fighting the pain away, and trying to give them the attentive mother they deserve. Please oh please pick me, and ignore the fact I am pregnant. Really, not being a drug put into my body, it shouldn't affect the baby at all, right?!

I have had migraines since I was a teenager, but they have intensified 100 fold since I hit my head 7 years ago. I now have to take a daily medication in order to avoid having a headache that puts me out of circulation for over a 24 hour period. I continue to get headaches even when I’m on medication. I am light and sound sensitive as well as stress and motion sensitive. The left side of my head is where the pain is the most severe. I feel like I would be a great candidate for your study.

  87. Kathleen K Murphy says:

I have had migraines since I was a young adult (30 yrs). They have been more frequent the last 9 yrs.(3-4 times a week). I would love to get some help so I wouldn’t have to take so much medication. I would appreciate being considered for your clinical study. Thank you.

  88. Marikay Kilar says:

Please put me on your trial! I have suffered from migraines all my life. I have not been able to work for the past 4 because I am in the 2 % that gets dAlly chronic headaches and I am in bed all day. I have tried everything. This isn’t how I ever imagined my life to be. Please consider me for your trial.
